Ushio & Tora Gets Cast List, Key Visual, July Premiere

Earlier today, a promotional video for Ushio & Tora began running at Japan’s Sunday Fes 2015 event. The trailer confirmed several voice members, as well as a July 2015 première date.

The current confirmed cast members are as follows:

  • Ushio: Tasuku Hatanaka
  • Tora: Rikiya Koyama
  • Asako: Mikako Komatsu
  • Mayuko: Kiyono Yasuno

Earlier today, the Ushio & Tora website updated to confirm the roles that were revealed in the promo, as well as name several actors who are working on the show, though their roles have yet to be confirmed.

The list of confirmed actors includes:

  • Ai Kayano
  • Aki Toyosaki
  • Ayahi Takagaki
  • Kana Hanazawa
  • Keiji Fujiwara
  • Maaya Sakamoto
  • Nana Mizuki
  • Yui Makino
  • Yuuka Nanri

In addition to the cast information, the latest site update includes a new key visual, as well as character shots for Ushio, Tora, Asako, and Mayuko.

Character Designs

In February, the series was unveiled in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday. At the time, it was confirmed that Ushio & Tora would be a joint production between studios MAPPA and Voln, with Satoshi Nishimura (Hajime no Ippo, Trigun) directing. Tomoko Mori is working on character designs, while Toshiki Inoue (Death Note, Dragon Ball, Ranma ½) handles the show’s scripts.
