FUNimation Licenses Blood Blockade Battlefront

Joking aside, FUNimation announced that they licensed Blood Blockade Battlefront. The company will simulcast the series as it airs in Japan, though a western premiere date and time have yet to be announced.

Blood Blockade Battlefront is based on the manga of the same name by Trigun creator Yasuhiro Nightow. The series will be animated by Bones, and directed by Rie Matsumoto (). Kazunao Furuya will handle the show’s scripts, while music will be provided by Taisei Iwasaki.

Character Designs will be provided by a team of Koji Sugiura and Toshihiro Kawamoto, with Sugiura handling creature designs.

Blood Blockade Battlefront will hit Japanese TV stations starting on April 4.
