Log Horizon Creator Settles Tax Evasion Charges

Yesterday, we reported that Log Horizon author Daisuke Umezu, better known by pen name Mamare Touno, was charged with tax evasion.

Earlier today, the author’s official site updated with a short PDF regarding the issue. The text reads:

Dear Readers and Involved Parties,

I have cooperated with the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau’s investigation into my tax returns.  I have filed the appropriate paperwork and completed taxation procedures, so the bureau has already completed their investigation.  I have reflected deeply on this incident and will strive to prevent any such incidents in the future.  I am extremely sorry for worrying my readership and all involved parties.
I would like to take this opportunity to offer my sincerest apology.
