First Himouto! Umaru-chan Promo Video Hits the Web

Earlier today, Toho started streaming a short promotional video for the upcoming Himouto! Umaru-chan on the company’s YouTube channel.

The short teaser gives a brief look at the world of Umaru Doma, the high school girl who’s a perfect princess in public, but far from it when she’s away from prying eyes.

Two weeks ago, Young Jump announced the major staff members that are working on the series. Masahiko Ohta, Takashi Aoshima, and Yasuhiro Misawa, who previously collaborated on the YuruYuri anime series, will reunite for the title. Masahiko Ohta will helm the series as director. Takashi Aoshima will handle the show’s series composition and write the screenplay, while Yasuhiro Misawa will work as the sound director.

Polar Bear’s Cafe character designer Aya Takano is designing the characters for Himouto! Umaru-chan, while studio Doga Kobo (Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun) will handle animation production.

Young Jump also confirmed the show’s major voice cast, which includes the following:

  • Umaru Doma: Aimi Tanaka
  • Sylphynford Tachibana: Yurina Furukawa
  • Kirie Motoba: Haruka Shiraishi
  • Nana Ebina: Akari Kageyama

Currently, five character design sheets and a pair of key visuals are available. Well, technically, it’s 41 visuals. In addition to the key visual that was released on the show’s website, Young Jump tweeted out 40 visuals of leading lady Umaru Doma when the show was first announced.

Himouto! Umaru-chan is slated to hit Japanese TV this summer. More details are expected to be released in future issues of Young Jump.
