V-Jump Unveils Dragon Ball Super Manga’s Goku

Can Akira Toriyama capture that old magic? Does Goku’s design still hold water? Tune in next time, on Dragon Ball Super!

Joking aside, Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine recently announced that Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama will team up with Dragon Ball Heroes author Toyotarō to produce a manga adaptation of Dragon Ball Super. The title will run in V-Jump startng with the August issue, with Toriyama handling the story, and Toyotarō serving as illustrator.

Earlier today, V-Jump unveiled Toyotarō’s design for Goku:

Dragon Ball Super was first unveiled by Toei in April. The anime series is currently in production, and on track for a July première. Toriyama is writing the story, while Kamisama Kiss director Kimitoshi Chioka will direct.
