Welcome, one and all, to a new installment of AniWeekly! This week is a truly special occasion. It’s our 50th installment! I’d like to take a minute to thank everyone who’s been reading since our first issue.

With that out of the way, we’re here to deliver another healthy dose of anime fun!

In The News

Red Ash: not quite related to Pokémon. The Kickstarter drive for Comcept’s Red Ash anime feature was successfully funded. Though the drive for the game adaptation didn’t reach its goal, the game will still be made for PC and Sony’s PlayStation 4 via an agreement with Chinese developer FUZE.

The gift of education. Last Gasp started a Kickstarter with a truly noble goal last week. The company is seeking $36,000 so that they can print 4,000 copies of Barefoot Gen to distribute to schools and libraries. This is the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, and Barefoot Gen remains an incredible, crushing reminder of the horrors of the catastrophe.

Sie sind das Essen und Wir sind die Jaeger! Koei Tecmo is working on an Attack on Titan game. The title, which will hit all PlayStation platforms, is being developed by Dynasty Warriors developers Omega Force. The title will hit all regions in 2016.

Yesterday is only a day behind. Studio Ghibli is in the process of dubbing both Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter and Only Yesterday.

Why so serious? Production I.G. is working on an anime adaptation of Joker Game. The series will adapt a series of mystery novels by Koji Yanagi, which are set in the deepest days of World War II.

Wake me up, before ya go-go! Fans of Wake Up, Girls!, you’re in luck! A new teaser for the upcoming Wake Up, Girls! Seishun no Kage hit yesterday, in advance of the film’s September screening.

Shiny makeup, Kagayaku! Momoiro Clover Z is one of the biggest acts in Japan at the moment. The group’s achievements are many, and their recent collaboration with rock group KISS made waves in the music industry. The folks at Anime Diet recently had the privilege of sitting with the group for a 10-minute interview.

Happy Anniversary, Nopy! We’d just like to give a shout-out to Nopy’s Anime Blog, which celebrated its seventh anniversary on Friday!

Otaku Journalism, for fun and profit! Lauren put together another fantastic guide for folks who are interested in getting into the world of fan journalism. This time, she draws from a recent conversation with Anime News Network editor Zac Bertschy to create a strong set of guidelines that any aspiring fan writer should follow.
