Somera-chan truly is mysterious, apparently.
The latest issue of Ichijinsha’s Manga 4 Koma Palette magazine announced that Fushigi na Somera-chan‘s anime adaptation will hit Japanese TV this fall. The series, which will be a five-minute short form title is slated to première on Saitama TV on October 9 at 1:00 AM. The show will also début on the following networks:
- 10/9/2015: Kyoto Broadcasting, 1:30 AM
- 10/10/2015: TVK, 1:45 AM
- 10/13/2015: Sun TV, 2:30 AM
The titular Somera Nonomoto will be played by former AKB48 idol Sayaka Nakaya. The rest of the confirmed cast includes the following:
- Kukuru Nonomoto: Kaede Hondo
- Shigeku Tendō: Rika Momokawa
- Ai Matsushima: Maria Naganawa
Fushigi na Somera-chan is based on the manga of the same name by Choboraunyopomi (Ai Mai Mi). The series will be directed by Itsuki Imazaki (Ai Mai Mi, Ai Mai Mi: Mousou Catastrophe) at Studio Seven. Itsuki will fill a number of other roles on the project, including scriptwriter, character designer, and producer. Music will be provided by Fuga Hatori, while Masakatsu Oomuro (I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying) will work as sound director.
The series was first announced in April, when the show’s official website opened to the public.
