Get ready for a whole lot of Macross!
Yesterday, the official Macross Delta website announced that the series will hit Japanese TV in April. The series will air on Tokyo MX and BS11 when premieres.
In addition, a new visual by character designer Chisato Mita was uploaded to the site, which showcases Hayate Immelmann, Freyja Wion, and Mirage Farina Jenius.
Four manga adaptations of Macross Delta are also in the works. All four titles will be spin-offs of the main series, which focus on various characters and storylines within Macross Delta‘s plot. Specific examples include Tactical Music Unit Walküre and the Aerial Knights of the Kingdom of Wind.

Ukyō Kodachi, who wrote the Macross Frontier novels, is writing a novelization of the anime series, which will hit stores under Kodansha’s imprint.
Macross Delta is the latest entry into the long-running Macross franchise. The series is being directed by Kenji Yasuda (Noein – to your other self) at Satelight, with series creator Shoji Kawamori serving as chief director. The team of Majiro (Barakamon) and Yuu Shindou (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) will provide character designs for the project, while also serving as chief animation directors. Toshizo Nemoto (Log Horizon) will supervise and provide scripts.

The show’s staff will host a stage show on March 26. The event, which will be held at AnimeJapan 2016 on the Red Stage, will bring together cast members from Macross Delta, Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, Macross 7, and Macross Frontier.
