Six New My Hero Academia Character Designs Hit The Web

By now, this class roster’s seeming a bit packed!

Earlier today, the official My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia) anime website updated with six new character designs. Character sheets for Shota Aizawa, Present Mic, Mt. Lady, Shinrin Kamui, Desutegoro, and Backdraft were all unveiled today, which you can check out below.

As of press time, the voice actors for these new characters have yet to be announced.

My Hero Academia is based on Kōhei Horikoshi’s manga of the same name. Kenji Nagasaki is directing the project at Bones, with Yousuke Kuroda (Gundam Build Fighters, Trigun) penning the show’s scripts. Yoshihiko Umakoshi (Berserk) will provide character designs.

Last week, Funimation announced that they acquired exclusive international home entertainment, video on demand, merchandise, and broadcast distribution rights to the property. The company plans to simulcast the show in the United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, and Ireland as episodes air in Japan.

Funimation describes My Hero Academia as follows:

There’s a new hero in town! “My Hero Academia” is a superhero origin story that soars to the top of the class!

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not going to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies. Now, the only thing standing between him and his first class is the academy’s formidable entrance exam—nothing a little private tutoring from the world’s mightiest hero can’t solve.

The series will debut on Japanese TV networks MBS and TBS on April 3. The show is slated to occupy the “Nichigo” time slot at 5:00PM local time.

Over two dozen character designs for the cast and several promotional videos are currently available. You can check these out below.
