Rurouni Kenshin Wanders Into The World of Puzzle & Dragons In New Crossover


Kenshin Himura’s ready to head to another household. Maybe it’ll be yours next time.

Earlier today, GungHo Entertainment announced new details on partnership with Shueisha, which will see characters from Nobuhiro Watsuki’s Rurouni Kenshin appear in Puzzle & Dragons. The company showed off images of Kenshin Himura’s ultimate form, as well as post-evolution forms for the following:

  • Sagara Sanosuke
  • Kaoru Kamiya
  • Yahiko Myojin
  • Megumi Takani

The promotion is currently ongoing in the Japanese version of Puzzle & Dragons, which is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Puzzle & Dragons is a mobile game, which first hit Japan’s iOS App Store on February 20, 2012. The title currently enjoys over 50 million downloads, and is the first mobile game in history to reach $1 billion in revenues.

Rurouni Kenshin began publication in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. The series, which ran from April 1994 through November 1999, spans a 28 collected volumes. Several adpatations of the work have been made, including an anime TV series, several OVAs, manga spinoffs, and a live-action film trilogy. Viz Media currently holds the domestic rights to the Rurouni Kenshin manga series in North America.
