Viz Media Joins CBLDF As A Corporate Member

Yesterday, the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) announced that Viz Media will join the organization’s ranks as a corporate member. As part of the initiative, Viz Media will offer copies of the Manga Book Club Handbook.

The publication is designed as a “starter guide” for fans and organizations looking to start manga clubs. It features a brief history of the medium, as well as a general guideline for setting up meetings and approaching manga from a critical angle.

CBLDF Logo 001 - 20160722The CBLDF is an American non-profit organization, which was to protect the First Amendment rights of comic creators, retailers, and publishers by covering legal expenses. The organization has been operating since 1986, and includes numerous major players in the comics industry. Member companies include:

Viz Media Senior Director Kevin Hamric commented on the news, stating:
