Handa-kun Visual 001 - 20160502Before he was a calligraphy legend, Sei Handa was a high school kid. Now, he’s heading to English class!

Earlier today, Funimation revealed the English dub cast for Handa-kun. The series will star the following:

  • Handa: Robert McCollum
  • Kawafuji: Duncan Brannan

Mike McFarland is helming the adaptation, which kicks off on August 5 at 8:30PM Eastern.

Handa-kun is based on Satsuki Yoshino’s manga of the same name. Yoshitaka Koyama (Miami Guns!, Rune Soldier) is directing the series at Deomedia, with Mayuko Matsumoto (KanColle) providing character designs. Michiko Yokote (Genshiken, Princess Tutu) is in charge of series composition. Ken Ito is scoring the soundtrack. Kenichi Suzumura will perform ending theme Hide-And-Seek.

Handa-kun began airing on July 7. Funimation describes the series as:

Sei Handa leads a very interesting life for a high school student. He is admired by his peers as a calligraphy genius and held in the highest respect. Unfortunately, Handa is under the impression that they hate him! He just wants a quiet life, but instead he’ll face countless challenges for his school idol position. Can he handle all the pressure and “bullying”? It’s hard being so clueless!
