Yesterday, publisher Vertical announced that they acquired the rights to Shuka Matsuda’s The Seven Deadly Sins: The Seven Scars Left Behind (Shōsetsu Nanatsu no Taizai -Gaiden- Karera ga Nokoshita Nanatsu no Kizuato). Vertical expect to ship the novel in May 2017.

The Seven Deadly Sins: The Seven Scars Left Behind is a side story to the Matsuda’s original The Seven Deadly Sins manga. The book originally hit Japanese retailers in October 2015.

The book revolves around two folks who know the truth of the events of the day that the Seven Deadly Sins were framed for treason against the crown of Liones. Fearing the shock the information could have in their country, Margaret and Gilthunder keep the secret to themselves. The two share a mutual love for one another, and resolve to live their lives as the Seven Deadly Sins would have, growing stronger with each passing day.

In addition, Vertical marketing director Ed Chavez revealed that the first Nisemonogatari may face delays. The title could potentially be pushed back to “May or June,” from its current April 2017 launch period.

Vertical’s also pursuing a Gundam property, though the panelists were unable to divulge exactly which title.
