Glass Mask Gets Comedic Anime Spinoff In October 2016


I think we can call this Glass Mask: Let’s Get Silly! and nobody would bat an eye.

Earlier today, TV network Tokyo MX announced that they will air a new spinoff of Suzue Miuchi’s Glass Mask (Glass no Kamen). The series, which is titled 3rd Year Class D Glass Mask (3-Nen D-Gumi Glass no Kamen) is a comedic re-imagining of the long-running drama.

The series will début on Tokyo MX on October 3, at 9:55PM. According to Tokyo MX, the CG-animated series will shine a satirical lens on modern society. In addition to the teaser, the network released a visual, which you can check out below:

Michio Machida will helm the series at DLE Inc., with Kio providing CGI character designs and modeling. Deko Akao (Noragami, Flying Witch) is in charge of series composition and scripts.

  • Yū Sakurakōji: Yuuki Kaji
  • Masumi Hayami: Daisuke Ono
