Funimation Unveils “Trickster”‘s English Dub Cast

Yesterday, Funimation unveiled their English dub cast for Trickster. The series will star the following:

  • Kensuke: Justin Briner
  • Yoshio: Austin Tindle
  • Inoue: J. Michael Tatum
  • Noro: Sarah Weidenheft
  • Akechi: Eric Vale
  • Twenty: Christopher Bevins
  • Nakamura: Jamie Marchi
  • Miyanashi: Chuck Huber
  • Pippo: Tyler Walker

Mike McFarland is directing the dub, which features scripts by Josh Grelle. Manuel Aragon is working as ADR engineer on the project. The dub will début on FunimationNow today at 10:00PM Eastern (7:00PM Pacific).

Trickster is based on Rampo Edogawa’s Boys Detective manga series. Masahiro Mukai (Hyperdimension Neptunia) is directing the project at Shin-Ei Animation and TMS Entertainment, with Shinya Yamada providing character designs. Erika Yoshida (Tiger & Bunny Episodes 15 & 23) is penning the show’s scripts, while Yuuki Hayashi (Death Parade, Robotics;Notes) scores the soundtrack.

Funimation describes the show as:

Based on the works by Ranpo Edogawa comes a new mystery thriller. Kensuke Hanasaki meets a mysterious boy named Yoshio Kobayashi who, due to an unexplained fog, cannot die though he wishes for death. Intrigued by this boy, Kensuke invites him to join the Boys’ Detective Team and help with their work around the city. But danger awaits, and their fate will lead them down a dark path.
