We may be seeing the world’s rudest, crudest angels make their return!
Earlier today, Gainax West’s official Twitter account tweeted an image, which features a silhouette of Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt protagonists Panty and Stocking along with the words “Comming [sic] Soon”.
The account also noted that they will reveal “early information” once the tweet received 5,000 Retweets, or when they exceed 2,000 followers. As of press time, Gainax West has 3,023 followers, while the tweet has over 27,000 Retweets.
Gainax West’s account has since announced that they will reveal details on the project on December 16.
Before anyone asks, this isn’t a pachinko machine:

Gainax opened their Gainax West studio in March. The branch is headed by producer Yasuhiro Takeda (Gurren Lagann, Gunbuster 2: Diebuster).
Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt is an original series from Gainax, which aired during the Fall 2010 broadcast season. Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill) directed the series, which features character designs by Atsushi Nishigori (Gurren Lagann). Internal team Geek Fleet was in charge of series composition.
Funimation currently holds the domestic rights to the series. They describe it as:
Panty and Stocking – the Anarchy Sisters – are two nasty angels who got booted from the pearly gates for being foul-mouthed bitches! Now they spend their nights blowing up ghosts in the seedy abyss between Heaven and Earth. Panty likes sex, Stocking likes sweets, their afro-sporting main man Garter Belt has a fetish we can’t mention. Together, they’re turning the mean streets of Daten City into a buffet of bodily fluids.
Ghosts don’t stand a chance against their lingerie of mass destruction, and if this debaucherous duo can collect enough Heaven Coins, they just might get their halos back. It’s a slim chance in hell, but anything can happen when you’re rolling commando, especially with Panty and Stocking!
