Yokai are everywhere, causing you problems, messing up your hair, and apparently invading Netflix.
They’re not going to live that awful song down.
Recently, Netflix started streaming Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie on their digital platform. The film is available in dubbed format.
Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie originally hit Japanese theaters in December 2014. The film was helmed by Shigeharu Takahashi (The Slayers NEXT, Joe vs. Joe) at Oriental Light and Magic, with Yoichi Kato (Aikatsu!, Kekkaishi) writing the script. The team of Masami Suda (Fist of the North Star, Speed Racer X) and Toshiya Yamada (Pokémon: Black and White, Yo-kai Watch) provided character designs.
The cast of the Yo-Kai Watch TV series will return to reprise their roles in the feature.
Film distributor Eleven Arts screened the film in a one-day theatrical run on October 15. They describe the feature as:
In YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE EVENT, Jibanyan, Whisper, and Nate meet a heroic Yo-kai named Hovernyan, and must travel back in time to team up with Nate’s adolescent grandfather to stop an evil Yo-kai from taking over the world! Can they discover the secret origin of the Yo-kai Watch and save humanity before time runs out!?
