Yuki Kajiura’s Hollywood Concert Cancelled Due To Visa Issues

This is a series of truly unfortunate events.

Earlier today, the official Sword Art Online Facebook page announced that Yuki Kajiura’s upcoming concert was cancelled due to visa issues. The event, called “Yuki Kajiura Live Featuring Sword Art Online,” was originally scheduled for January 14 at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater.

The staff apologized for the inconvenience, and remarked that Kajiura, as well as the other artists, were looking forward to the show.

Ticketholders who purchased online or over the phone will receive full refunds within the next ten days. They will still receive an event pamphlet and an exclusive Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale- pouch. The concert’s staff will announce details on the official website at a later date.

Yuki Kajiura composed music for every entry in the Sword Art Online franchise, including upcoming film Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale. Outside of the series, Kajiura’s composed music for over sixty anime titles, including Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, Erased, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Furthermore, Kajiura created performmance groups FictionJunction and Kalafina.

Kajiura held the first “Yuki Kajiura Live Featuring Sword Art Online” concert in Tokyo, on March 31, 2016. The Hollywood event would have been the first time the show was performed in North America.
