Funimation Unveils Fuuka Anime Dub Cast

Fuuka, yeah. Or, depending on your output: Fuuka, no!

Earlier today, Funimation unveiled their English dub cast for Fuuka. The series will star the following:

  • Fuuka Akitsuki: Jill Harris
  • Yuu Haruna: Aaron Dismuke
  • Maya Haruna: Felecia Angelle
  • Hibiki Haruna: Alex Moore
  • Chitose Haruna: Kristen McGuire
  • Kazuya Nachi: Shawn Gann
  • Tomomi: Tia Ballard
  • Koyuki Hinashi: Jeannie Tirado
  • Makoto Mikasa: Ricco Fajardo

Caitlin Glass is directing the dub, which features scripts by Jessica Cavanagh. Brandon Peters is serving as ADR Engineer on the adaptation.

Funimation’s Fuuka SimulDub première on January 25, at 9:00PM Eastern (6:00PM Pacific).

Fuuka is based on Kouji Seo’s manga of the same name. Keizou Kusakawa (KanColle, Riddle Story of Devil) was tapped to direct the series at Studio Diomedéa, with Yoshino Honda providing character designs. Aoi Akashiro is in charge of series composition for the project.

Takuro Iga (Aria the Scarlet Ammo Double A) is scoring the soundtrack at studio West Ground. Fuuka‘s opening theme song, Climber’s High, is performed by Hedgehogs.

“Hedgehogs” is an in-world band, whose songs feature lyrics by series creator Kouji Seo. West Ground composed the song, while Sho from “My First Story” arranged.

Fuuka hit Japanese TV on January 6. Crunchyroll streams the series as part of their simulcast lineup. They describe Fuuka as:

Yuu Haruna has transferred to a school in Tokyo so he can live with his sisters after their parents moved to America. Introverted and unskilled at socializing with others, Yuu’s main mode of communication is Twitter. As he’s scoping out his new surroundings with his eyes on his smartphone, he crashes into Fuuka Akitsuki, a girl who appeared in front of him out of nowhere. Centered on the awkward and unsocial Yuu Haruna, the mysteriously charming Fuuka Akitsuki, and Yuu’s childhood friend Koyuki Hinashi, a brand new love story woven through music is about to begin.
