Gundam.Info Streams First Gundam Thunderbolt Anime For Free


Now, everyone has a chance to catch up on the action that’s unfolding in the Thunderbolt Sector.

On Thursday, the official Gundam website announced that they will stream the first Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt OVA series for free. Episodes of the show will be available in subtitled format for one week. Subtitles are available in English, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), and Korean

The release schedule is as follows:

  • Episode 1: 2/12/2017 – 2/19/2017
  • Episode 2: 2/19/2017 – 2/26/2017
  • Episode 3: 2/26/2017 – 3/5/2017
  • Episode 4: 3/5/2017 – 3/12/2017

Episodes will be updated at 10:00PM Eastern (7:00PM Pacific).

Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt is based on Yasuo Ohtagaki’s manga of the same name. The series is being helmed by Gundam UC director Kou Matsuo at Sunrise. Hirotoshi Takaya (Texhnolyze) is providing character designs, while the team of Morifumi Naka (A Wind Named Amnesia, Texhnolyze), Seiichi Nakatani (Gundam 00), and Hajime Katoki (Gundam Wing, Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team) handles mechanical designs. Scripts were written by director Kou Matsuo.

The first episode of the series was released in subtitled format on Christmas day 2015, at noon Japan local time. Episode 2 hit digital storefronts on February 12, at noon Japan local time. The third episode was released on March 18, while the finale hit digital storefronts on April 28.

In North America, Daisuki is distributing episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt for digital rental. The series, which will is available on Google Play, Amazon Instant Video, and the PlayStation network, is available in all territories outside of Japan and China. The current per-episode rental fee is $6.99 for a 72 hour viewing period.

A second season is currently in the works, with the first episode slated for a March 24 première.
