“Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome” PV Highlights Main Voice Cast


The night is short, but that doesn’t mean great things can still happen!

Earlier today, film company Toho started streaming a new promo video for Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome (The Night is Short, So Walk, Girl). The 90-second teaser offers a preview of the performances for Girl With Black Hair, School Festival Executive Director, and Underpants Leader.

Asian Kung Fu Generation’s theme song serves as the background musical track.

Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome hits Japanese theaters on April 7. Masaaki Yuasa (Ping Pong, Mind Game) was tapped to direct the feature, with Yusuke Nakamura (Tatami Galaxy) providing character designs. Makoto Ueda is writing the film’s script. Asian Kung-Fu Generation will perform the film’s theme song.

Previously, the confirmed staffers collaborated on 2010 series The Tatami Galaxy. Yusuke Nakamura also designed the cover for the Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome novel.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Kurokami no Otome (Girl with Black Hair): Kana Hanazawa
  • School Festival Executive Director: Hiroshi Kamiya
  • Pant Soubancho (Underpants Leader): Ryuji Akiyama
  • Higuchi Shisho: Kazuya Nakai
  • Hanuki Ryoko: Yuko Kaida
  • God in The Used Book Market: Hiroyuki Yoshino
  • Noriko Suda: Seiko Niizuma
  • Nise Jyogasaki: Junichi Suwabe
  • Princess Daruma: Aoi Yuuki
  • Johnny: Nobuyuki Hiyama
  • Todo-san: Kazuhiro Yamaji
  • Rihaku-san: Mugihito

Tomihiko Morimi’s Yoru wa Mijikashi Arukeyo Otome novel hit stores in 2006 under Kadokawa’s imprint. Over 1.2 million copies have been produced since it began publication. The book won Yamamoto Shugoro Prize and second place in 2007’s Japan Booksellers’ Awards.

Tomihiko Morimi is also known for his work on The Ecccentric Family novels.
