“Love and Lies” Anime Gets First PV & Cast Reveals

Someone’s gonna love these reveals, and that’s no lie!

Earlier today, the official Love and Lies) (Kimi to Uso) anime website updated with a new promo video. The 30-second teaser offers a look at the show in action.

The teaser unveils a trio of major cast members. Kana Hanazawa, Yui Makino, and Ryota Osaka will voice the leads, though specific roles have yet to be named.

Love and Lies premieres on July 3.

The Love and Lies anime is based on Musawo’s manga of the same name. Seiki Takuno (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, Sekko Boys) is directing the project at Liden Films.

Musawo’s Love and Lies manga began publication on the MangaBox app in August 2014. Four collected volumes have been released to date, with Volume 5 due to hit stores tomorrow.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes Love and Lies as:

Lies are forbidden and love is doubly forbidden.
In the near future, when young people in Japan turn sixteen, they are assigned a marriage partner by the government. People don’t have to go through the trouble of looking for someone, and everyone accepts that the country will find a compatible partner to make them happy.

Yukari Nejima is fifteen years old. He lives in a small corner of the country, and just can’t seem to get ahead in life. Both academically and athletically he’s below average. But in within him, he hides a heart burning with passion! In this world in which love is forbidden, what will happen to him when he falls in love?
