So, this is apparently a thing now.
Earlier today, Netflix announced that they’re launching a new animated series on their platform. Neo Yokio, a collaboration between Netflix, Production I.G., Studio DEEN, and Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig, will hit Netflix on September 22.
Netflix released a two-minute teaser to promote the project.

Neo Yokio‘s first season will run for six half-hour episodes.
Koenig is credited as creator, writer, and executive producer for the project. Nick Weidenfeld is co-writing the title and executive producing. Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Maria Watches Over Us, Genshiken) and Junji Nishimura (You’re Under Arrest!, Rurouni Kenshin) are storyboarding the series.
Animation production will be handled by Production I.G., Studio DEEN, and South Korean studio MOI.

Things take a mysterious turn when Kaz is drawn into the turbulent world of ex-fashion blogger Helena St. Tessero (Tavi Gevinson), setting in motion a sequence of events that force him to question everything he knows about Neo Yokio.
