Nerdy Talk: A Few Words

As many of you know, tonight is the recording for the latest episode of Nerdy Talk. In a few short hours, I, as well as the rest of the podcast crew, will be settling in and talking for hours about all things anime.

I’m kind of surprised that things have gone so well, to be honest. A podcast was something I had always envisioned in the greater scheme for Anime Herald, but I was always putting it off for some reason or another. It really took a good solid push by Matt to get the ball rolling, for which I am incredibly thankful.

Nerdy Talk has been an experience that, I think the others can agree here, has been worthwhile at the very least. It’s allowed us to really just sit down, talk, and get to know each other on a level that wouldn’t exist otherwise. The way they’re presented in the podcasts is unfiltered: they really are that knowledgable, funny, and generally awesome. I couldn’t have asked for a finer group of co-hosts.

So I’d like to take a moment to say “thank you” to everyone that’s helped to make Nerdy Talk come to fruition so far. From Matt, Anthony, Ben, and Dorian, to our pop-ins like Zack and Erin, to AnimEigo CEO Robert E. Woodhead, who sat with us in Episode 3. You’ve all helped to create something incredibly nifty and special.

Also, it’s something I can’t say enough, thank you, readers, for tuning in bi-week after bi-week. Without you, we wouldn’t have Nerdy Talk, nor would we have Anime Herald.

So, as I hurriedly jot down notes, confirm our attendance, and prepare the equipment, I look forward to the evening. It seems that every session seems to turn into something fun and interesting. As the weeks go on and the episode numbers start to increase, I hope we can continue to improve, and to deliver an experience that you’ll all keep returning to.
