It’s pretty much a given that most anime fans will recognize names like Death Note and Attack on Titan. And, sure enough, most have amassed full arrays of descriptors to use when discussing the shows. However, I can probably say that, in 99% of the world, “kid-friendly” isn’t one of them.
Artist Matt Reedy decided to take some time and explore the “what if” on manga for the older set, with “Little Golden Manga.” In this ongoing art series, Reedy is mocking up covers for popular manga and anime titles in a style that would be more at home in Golden Books like The Pokey Little Puppy than Death Note.
The result, as one would expect, is delightfully surreal. He’s currently completed three covers: Attack on Titan, Death Note, and FLCL, which we’ve posted below.
