First Digimon Adventure tri Key Art, Information Arise

It seems like it’s been an eternity, but details on the 15th anniversary Digimon Adventure anime series are starting to come to light.

On December 13, the first key visual hit the official Digimon Adventure website. The series, titled Digimon Adventure tri, will feature character designs by Atsuya Uki (Cencoroll) and script supervision by Yuuko Kakihara (Heaven’s Lost Property). Keitaro Motonaga (Magic Knight Rayearth OVA, Jormungand) was tapped to direct.

It’s great to see information finally coming to light. With the series hitting next year, it was but a matter of time before we started seeing information arise.

The company’s decision to tie information releases to a game has helped to maintain a consistent level of interest in the property. In the coming weeks, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the announcements begin to accelerate. Digimon is a powerful brand for Bandai, and the 15th anniversary is a major milestone.

Given the show’s Spring 2015 premiere, it will be interesting to see just what gets revealed before the first episode hits the airwaves.
