You knew this had to be coming.
Starting this week, a TV commercial for the 2015 Snow Miku display will begin airing in Hokkaido. The Digital Diva will make her sixth appearance at the Sapporo Snow Festival, which runs from February 5th through February 11th, in the form of a snow sculpture.
It’s a truly local event, as Crypton Future Media, who created the Vocaloid software, is based in Sapporo’s Chuo-ku ward.
It’s shaping up to be a banner year for the Snow Miku project, with numerous new events to complement the virtual idol’s displays.The now-famous snow sculpture will make its return this year (along with a few new friends from Love Live! and Madoka Magica) and a merchandise booth.
In addition, two special Hatsune Miku performances will be held at Zepp Sapporo on February 7th and 8th.
While we don’t know how this year’s Snow Miku will shape up, there are plenty of video clips from last year’s event, to give an idea of what to expect.
