Yesterday, the Sapporo Snow Festival kicked off their big Snow Miku display. The event opened to the public, and allowed thousands of fans to take a gander at a snow sculpture of the iconic virtual idol.
This year, though, Miku has some competition. A couple of weeks ago, we reported that Honoka, Umi, and Kotori from Love Live! would have a snow sculpture at the event. The statue, which features the characters in super-deformed style will be displayed from February 5 through February 11, with illumination for night viewing.
Our first glimpse of the statue didn’t turn out so wonderfully. There was something about the girls’ eyes that seemed, well… empty. Like they were staring into the souls of those unfortunate to gaze upon them.
Thankfully, that’s been fixed.
The final statue is adorable, as the girls’ cheery smiles invite people to stop and take a peek.
Before we get to the photos, can we get some music here? Maybe a “μ’s music start”?
Fantastic.
We’ve selected a few of our favorite pictures from the display below. If there’s a photo you liked, or one that you think we should feature, let us know in the comments!
