What makes a Subaru a Subaru? Apparently, it’s an endorsement by magical girls!

Earlier today, Warner Brothers Anime started streaming two new videos for the upcoming Wish Upon The Pleiades (Hōkago no Pleiades) anime series. The first video, a TV commercial, features a preview of series ending theme Koko Kara, Kanata Kara.

The second feature is a 144-second promotional video, which outlines the core premise of the series and gives a sample of opening theme Stella-rium, as well as Koko Kara, Kanata Kara.

The series will make its Japanese TV début at midnight on April 9, on Tokyo MX. The series will air later on BS Fuji, ABC, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV.

Wish Upon The Pleiades began its existence as a series of shorts produced as a collaboration between Subaru and Gainax. The four-episode series revolved around a young lady named Subaru who, in a twist of fate, is thrust into the magical girl life. Subaru discovers that her friend Aoi is one of several magical girls, who are working to send a being from the Pleiades star system home. To do so, the girls must gather the various engine fragments from the being’s ship, so that it can be repaired.

The original series was streamed online with English subtitles.

Last year, we reported that the main actors from the original net animation series will return to voice their roles in this televised adaptation.
