KanColle Anime Gets A Sequel Project

The the final episode, which aired on Tokyo MX today, contained an announcement that KanColle will return for a sequel. The announcement doesn’t specify whether this will be a TV series, a film, or some other work.

The KanColle anime series is based on a popular free-to-play video game of the same name. The anime series began airing on January 7, 2015 in Japan. Crunchyroll currently streams the series, and has been adding episodes weekly with the Japanese broadcasts.

During the show’s run, the characters’ likenesses were used to promote several products and services that include Pizza Hut, Lawson Convenience Stores, and Hakujuji Medical Supplies.
