Word of the heroic legend is starting to spread!

Last night, the official The Heroic Legend of Arslan anime website started streaming a new 30-second TV spot.

The advert features the show’s opening theme song, Boku no Kotoba Dewanai Kore wa Boku-tachi no Kotoba by UVERworld.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan is based on the manga of the same name by Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa. The manga retells Yoshiki Tanaka’s long-running series of fantasy novels, which first hit the Japanese book scene in 1986.

The confirmed cast for the series is as follows:

  • Daryun: Yoshimasa Hosoya
  • Narsus: Daisuke Namikawa
  • Elam: Natsuki Hanae
  • Gieves: Kenn
  • Falangies: Maaya Sakamoto
  • Andragoras III: Takayuki Sugo
  • Tahamine: Atsuko Tanaka
  • Vafleez: Eizou Tsuda
  • Karlan: Toru Ohkawa
  • Kishuard: Hiroki Yasumoto
  • Kubad: Kenta Miyake
  • Shapur: Katsuyuki Konishi
  • Innocentius VII: Toshiharu Sakurai
  • Giskarl: Takehito Koyasu
  • Bodan: Shiro Saito

Noriyuki Abe (Tokyo Mew Mew, Black Butler: Book of Circus) will direct the series at Liden Films X Sanzigen Animation Studio. Character designs will be handled by the team of Shingo Ogiso, Ushio Tazawa, and Kazuo Watanabe with Ogiso filling the role of Chief Character Designer. Taro Iwashiro will write the show’s score, and Makoto Uezu (Akame ga KILL!) will be in charge of series composition.

The Heroic Legend of Arslan will hit Japanese TV on April 5 at 5:00PM local time.
