Yesterday, the official Cannon Busters KickStarter page updated with a confirmation that the feature entered production at animation tudio Satelight. Creator, Writer, and Director LeSean Thomas will be working in Tokyo to aid in production.
Cannon Busters is a self-described “action-adventure dramedy,” based on Thomas’s comic book series of the same name. LeSean Thomas and Eric Calderon wrote the script. Thomas Romain is serving as Mechanical Designer, and Joe Madureira is handling character designs.
The feature brought in a total of $156,535 in its KickStarter drive, which ran from November 3, 2014 through December 3, 2014. Those who wish to donate to the project for Backer Rewards can continue to do so via the project’s official website.
