Madman Streams New When Marnie Was There Teaser Trailer


In Australia, Studio Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There will receive a two-week theatrical run, which runs from May 14 through May 27. Madman will screen both the Japanese and English-dubbed version of the film.

To give fans a heads-up on the release, Madman streamed a new teaser trailer, which features the Japanese cast with English subtitles.

The confirmed English cast for the film is as follows:

  • Anna Sasaki: Hailee Steinfeld
  • Marnie: Kiernan Shipka
  • Setsu Oiwa: Grey Griffin
  • Kiyomasa Oiwa: John C. Reilly
  • Hisako: Vanessa Williams
  • Yoriko: Geena Davis
  • Sayaka: Ava Acres
  • Nobuko: Raini Rodriguez
  • Mrs. Kadoya: Kathy Bates
  • Nan: Ellen Burstyn
  • Older Woman: Catherine O’Hara

In North America, When Marnie Was There will open in New york and Los Angeles on May 22, 2015. The engagement will be limited in its opening weekend, but GKids plans to expand the screening in the following weeks.
