Earlier today, GKids began streaming the English dub trailer for Studio Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There.
The film will see a limited release in New York and Los Angeles on May 22. GKids plans to expand to other cities in the weeks that follow.
The confirmed dub cast is as follows:

- Marnie: Kiernan Shipka
- Setsu Oiwa: Grey Griffin
- Kiyomasa Oiwa: John C. Reilly
- Hisako: Vanessa Williams
- Yoriko: Geena Davis
- Sayaka: Ava Acres
- Nobuko: Raini Rodriguez
- Mrs. Kadoya: Kathy Bates
- Nan: Ellen Burstyn
- Older Woman: Catherine O’Hara
When Marnie Was There hit Japanese theaters in 2014. The film, which was written and directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi (The Secret World of Arrietty), is based on Joan G. Robinson’s 1967 novel of the same name. The film grossed ¥3.63 billion yen ($30.46 million USD) in its first eight weeks.
The film made its North American début at the New York International Children’s FIlm Festival, which was held in February.
