Randomness Ensues

Blood Lad Creator Yuuki Kodama Draws Ranma ½ Characters

Ranma ½ is a classic, in the truest sense of the word.

The series, which began in 1987, was an invaluable part of the evolution of anime and manga as we know it. At the time, fans were drawn to its lovable cast and off-the-wall sense of humor, as well as the romantic polygons that seemed to get more convoluted with each passing week. During both its anime and manga run, Ranma ½ introduced countless gimmicks, gags and tropes that are still popular today.

Over 49 million volumes of the manga sold to date, and the anime series (which celebrated its 26th anniversary on April 16) saw over 140 episodes produced.

It comes as little surprise, then, that the title would still have a number of fans, even today.

Over the past couple of days, Blood Lad creator Yuuki Kodama has been posting drawings of the franchise’s characters to the artist’s Twitter account. On Saturday, Kodama published a picture of Ranma in both girl-type and boy-type forms. Earlier today, Kodama added a second drawing featuring Ryoga.

Last month, Squid Girl creator Masahiro Anbe tweeted sketches of Ranma and Ukyo on his personal account.
