High Speed! -Free! Starting Days- Main Staff Announced

Earlier today, the official website for High Speed! -Free! Starting Days- announced the film’s main staff.

Amagi Brilliant Park director Yasuhiro Takemoto will direct the film at Kyoto Animation. Futoshi Nishiya, who provided the character designs for the Free! TV series, will return to the role in High Speed!.

Nobunaga Shimazaki, who voiced Haruka Nanase in Free!, will reprise his role in the film.

High Speed! -Free! Starting Days- will hit Japanese theaters on December 5.

Kyoto Animation’s Free! anime series began airing in July 2013, with Crunchyroll streaming the series as it aired in Japan.

The second series, Free! Eternal Summer started airing in July 2015. FUNimation acquired the domestic rights to the series, which they announced shortly after the première.

High Speed! -Free! Starting Days- is based on Hiroko Utsumi’s light novel High Speed!, which was loosely adapted into the original Free! Iwatobi Swim Club anime series.
