Jitsu wa Watashi Wa… Hits Japanese TV On July 6, 2015


All aboard the vampire hype express! Next stop, romantic comedies!

Earlier today, the official website for the Jitsu wa Watashi wa… (Actually, I am…) anime series updated with a premiรจre schedule and a new key visual.

The series will begin airing on July 6 on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, and TVQ Kyushu Housou, with other networks screening the series later in the week. The full schedule is as follows:

  • TV Tokyo: 7/6/2015, 25:35~
  • TV Osaka: 7/6/2015, 25:35~
  • TVQ Kyushu Housou: 7/6/2015, 26:00~
  • TV Hokkaido: 7/7/2015, 25:35~
  • TV Aichi: 7/9/2015, 26:05~
  • TV Setouchi: 7/9/2015, 26:15~

In addition, an advance screening event will be held on June 20 at Coconeri, which is located in Nerima Sangyo Plaza.

Jitsu wa Watashi wa… is based on Eiji Matsudaโ€™s rom-com manga of the same name. The series will be directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto (Servant ร— Service, Squid Girl Season 2) and animated by TMS Entertainment. Hirotaka Marufuji (Aquarion Evol, Nobunaga The Fool) is providing the show’s character designs.

The confirmed voice cast is as follows:

  • Yลko Shiragami: Yลซ Serizawa
  • Shiho Shishido: Aya Uchida
  • Akari Kลmoto: Emi Nitta
  • Nagisa Aizawa: Inori Minase
  • Akane Kลmoto: M.A.O
  • Mikan Akemi: Reina Ueda

In North America, Seven Seas holds the license for the Jitsu wa Watashi wa… manga. The first volume is scheduled to hit stores on January 12, 2016 under the title My Monster Secret. The company describes the series as follows:

High school student Kuromine Asahi is the kind of guy who literally cannot tell a lie.Whether itโ€™s trying to maintain a poker face in a simple game of cards, or keeping scurrilous gossip to himself, Asahi is a total failure when it comes to the art of deception.

So what happens when he stumbles upon the most shocking secret of his life? When Asahi learns that Shiragami Youko, a beautiful girl of few words, is actually a vampire. Can Asahi possibly keep his lips sealed?
