Sentai Filmworks Unveils Sentai Selects Budget Line

Earlier today, Sentai Filmworks unveiled their “Sentai Selects” line of DVDs and Blu-Rays. The lineup will be composed of popular titles, presented at a budget-friendly price.

In the press release, Sentai Filmworks Vice President David del Dio offered the following comment:

The Sentai Selects line was created for those who have recently become interested in anime and wish to expand their libraries with classic shows, as well as those who may have missed their chance to own these titles during their first run[…] Our hope is to provide an ideal situation where both new and old fans alike can enjoy these must own anime at an affordable entry price.

The first scheduled title is the 2004 Appleseed film, which was directed by Shinji Aramaki (Bubblegum Crisis) and distributed in Japan by Toho. The “Sentai Selects” edition will include a double-sided cover and enhanced audio.

A trademark listing for Sentai Selects was first discovered by Twitter user WTK.

Appleseed was originally released in North America by Geneon Entertainment.
