Toonami To Air Michiko and Hatchin, Akame Ga Kill

Toonami’s lineup is going to get a shot of adrenaline!

Earlier today, the Toonami staff announced that they will add Michiko and Hatchin and Akame ga KILL! to their broadcast lineup. Michiko and Hatchin will join Toonami’s lineup on June 20, while Akame ga KILL! will début on August 8.

Akame Ga KILL! will be the first show under Sentai Filmworks’s umbrella that hits Toonami. The series, which adapts Takahiro & Tetsuya Tashiro’s manga of the same name, aired in the summer 2014 anime season.

The show premiered on July 6, 2014, and ran for 24 episodes. Tomoki Kobayashi helmed the series, while studio White Fox produced the animation.

Michiko and Hatchin is an original series, that aired in the fall 2008 anime season. The title was animated by Manglobe, with Sayo Yamamoto (Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine) directing, and Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop) serving as producer. FUNimation currently holds the right to the show in North America, and released it on DVD and Blu-Ray last fall.
