Koro-sensei’s coming back! He just needs a break, first.
Earlier today, the official Assassination Classroom anime Twitter account announced that the show’s second season will kick off in 2016. The tweet included an image that was later revealed to be the end card for the first season’s finale.

Rough Translation: Thank you for watching the first season of Assassination Classroom, and your support over the semester! Everyone viewing on other networks, we thank you in this final broadcast! I’ll be back. See you in the second semester! #AssassinationClassroom
Assassination Classroom is based on Yūsei Matsui’s manga series of the same name. The series was directed by Seiji Kishi (Angel Beats!, Yuki Yuna is a Hero) and animated by studio Lerche. The series premiered on Japanese TV on January 9.
In North America, FUNimation holds the rights to the series, and currently streams it on their digital platform in both dubbed and subtitled formats.
Until the series kicks off in 2016, we can rest assured that Koro-sensei will never be far. He’ll always be there, just lurking… infused with that rare combination of murderous intent and tentacles.
