Summer’s just around the corner, and licenses are beginning to pepper the horizon like fireworks in the night sky.
Earlier today, Aniplex of America announced that they licensed four new titles. The company will stream the following as they air in Japan:
- Charlotte
- Classroom Crisis
- God Eater
- Wagnaria!! 3
In addition, Aniplex will stream the second arc of Durarara!! x 2 starting on July 4. All five titles will be offered on Aniplex Channel, Hulu, Crunchyroll, DAISUKI, and Viewster.
Charlotte, which starts streaming on July 4, is a Key Visual Arts show that combines the talents of Angel Beats! writer Jun Maeda and character designer Na-Ga. Aniplex describes the show as follows:
Very few adolescent boys and girls have an onset of special abilities. Yu Otosaka is one such man who uses his ability unbeknownst to others in order to lead a satisfying school life. Then one day, a girl named Nao Tomori suddenly appears before him. Their encounter reveals the destiny for wielders of special abilities.
This is a story written by Jun Maeda (Angel Beats!, Clannad, Kanon) of those gifted youth and how they spend their days of adolescence…

Classroom Crisis will hit the airwaves on July 3, will be directed by the team of Satoshi Ishino, Takeshi Yoshioka, and Ayumi Kurashima at studio Lay-duce. Character designs will be handled by Hiro Kanzaki, who previously provided the designs for Oreimo.
God Eater is based on the popular video game series from Namco Bandai Games. The series will be directed by Takayuki Hirao (Garden of Sinners) and directed by ufotable (Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works). Keita Shimizu will provide the character designs for the series.
Wagnaria!! 3 will begin airing on July 4. NIS America currently holds the domestic rights to the first two seasons of the show, which are currently available on domestic Blu-Ray.
