I guess people can wait to eat the gods.

Earlier today, the official God Eater anime website announced that the show’s première was delayed. Studio ufotable postponed the episode by a week from its July 5 air date. Instead, a special program titled God Eater Extra will air in its place.

The official series premiere will not be on July 12. According to the announcement, ufotable delayed the series in order to “deliver a work with a degree of quality that satisfy the fans.”

God Eater Extra will be the first of episodes, and will present a behind-the-scenes look at God Eater‘s production. A schedule for future episodes will be announced in the future via the official website and the official God Eater Twitter account.

God Eater will be directed by Takayuki Hirao at ufotable, with character designs by Keita Shimizu. Gō Shiina (Kyousogiga, GYO: Tokyo Fish Attack) will provide the title’s musical score.

In North America, Aniplex of America holds the rights to God Eater. Aniplex will offer the series as a Daisuki exclusive.
