Wake Up, Girls! Films Scheduled, Key Visual Released

Wake me up, before you go-go. Don’t leave me hanging on like a yo-yo!

Wait… wrong half of the world. Strike that!

Earlier this year, we reported that anime series Wake Up, Girls! would receive a sequel in the form of a pair of feature films. At the time, it was revealed that the flicks would open in September and December of this year, respectively.

Today, we received a bit more clarification on the releases, in addition to final titles. The first film, Wake Up, Girls! The Shadow of Youth, will première in Japanese cinemas on September 25. The second installment, Wake Up, Girls! Beyond the Bottom, still has a nebulous “December 2015” release window.

To promote the films, the staff released a key visual for the project.

In addition, it was revealed that limited-edition Blu-Ray copies of both films will be available for purchase at their theatrical showings. The sets, which will carry a 8,640 yen ($69.46) price tag, will include the film on Blu-Ray, a soundtrack CD, and an audio drama CD.
