Yes, it’s about an heiress and a chauffeur, but Driving Miss Daisy this ain’t!
Earlier today, Viz Media announced that they acquired the domestic rights to Keiko Ishihara’s manga, The Heiress and the Chauffeur (Ojō-sama no Untenshu). The company will release the first volume under its Shojo Beat label in May 2016.
The Heiress and the Chauffeur is a 2010 manga that originally ran in Hakusensha’s LaLa DX magazine. The series was compiled into two volumes.
Anime News Network describes the series as follows:
In the Taishō era, at a girl’s school there is one young lady, Sayaka, who earns the envy of all the other girls. She wears a red ribbon to mark her as the top student at school. She is always followed by a chauffeur, an employee of her family. The rumor among the students is that the two are in love.
After The Heiress and the Chauffeur, Ishihara went on to create fantasy series Strange Dragon. The title also ran in LaLa magazine from 2013 through this February.
