In addition, the LinkedIn account for Studio Ghibli International chief Geoffrey Wexler was recently updated to confirm localization for Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter and Only Yeserday.
Only Yesterday is a 1991 film directed by Isao Takahata (Grave of the Fireflies, My Neighbors the Yamadas). A subtitled version of the film aired on Turneer Classic Movies in 2006, as part of the channel’s month-long salute to Studio Ghibli. To date, it’s the only theatrical film to not be released on home video in North America.
Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter is a 26-episode TV series that ran from October 2014 through March 2015. The Goro Miyazaki-led project was a co-production between Studio Ghibli and Polygon Pictures.
In the west, Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter was licensed by UK-based Serious Lunch.
