Earlier today, Atlus announced that the upcoming Persona 5 will receive an anime special. The announcement came during Atlus’s stage presentation, “Atlus Presents Persona Special Stage” at Tokyo Game Show.

As of now, no details on the project are known. The announcement came in the form of a teaser video, which stated “The much-anticipated latest numbered entry already … has a Persona 5 special anime scheduled for broadcast! The Persona 20th anniversary festival project launches!” The Persona staff noted that more details will be revealed in the future.

In addition, the presentation showed off the Persona 5 opening sequence, in addition to footage from the recording session with theme song performer Lyn.


Persona 5 will be released on Sony’s PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 consoles in summer 2016. The title was originally announced for a Winter 2015 release, though a delay was announced earlier this week.
