Working a candy store has never been so crazy.
Yesterday, Weekly Shonen Sunday announced that Dagashi Kashi will receive an anime adaptation. As of now, the show’s cast, crew, and broadcast information still remains a mystery.
To promote the news, Weekly Shonen Sunday released a teaser visual for the project:
Dagashi Kashi follows Kokonotsu, an aspiring manga artist who’s reluctant to take over the family business. His family runs a traditional “dagashi” (penny candy) store, which isn’t exactly the most exciting of professions out there. A girl named Hotaru, who adores small-time candy stores like the one ran by Kokonotsu’s amily, appears at the store one day. She isn’t just a one-and-done customer, rather she continues to show up day after day to convince Kokonotsu to take charge of the location.
The series began in Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2014, and currently spans three collected volumes.
