Get ready, everyone, The license battles are just heating up!

Earlier today, Viz Media announced that they licensed six manga titles. The company will release the following:

  • Kuroko’s Basketball (Kuroko no Basuke) by Tadatoshi Fujimaki;
  • Haikyu!! by Haruichi Furudate
  • Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona) by Mizuho Kusanagi
  • 7th Garden by Mitsu Izumi
  • Everyone’s Getting Married (Totsuzen Desu ga, Ashita Kekkon Shimasu)) by Izumi Miyazono
  • Monster Hunter (Monster Hunter: Senkō no Kariudo) by Keiichi Hikami and Shin Yamamoto

The company also noted that they will release Black Clover by Yūki Tabata in print format.

Kurokos Basketball Manga Volume 1 Cover - 20151009

Kuroko’s Basketball first debuted in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump in 2008. The series spawned numerous adaptations, including a light novel, a spinoff manga, and a three-season anime series that wrapped up in July.

The Kuroko’s Basketball anime is currently streaming in its entirety on Crunchyroll. Viz Media will release the manga in 2-in-1 omnibus editions in Summer 2016.

Haikyu Manga Volume 1 Cover - 20151009

Haikyu!! is another Weekly Shonen Jump series, which first hit the publication in February 2012. The ongoing title currently spans 18 collected volumes. The series spawned an ongoing anime adaptation, which first hit Japanese TV in April 2014.

Sentai Filmworks currently holds the domestic rights to the Haikyu!! anime, and Crunchyroll is streaming episodes as they air in Japan. Viz Media will release the manga starting in Summer 2016.

Yona of the Dawn Manga Volume 1 Cover - 20151009

Yona of the Dawn is an ongoing series, which first debuted in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine in 2009. The title currently spans 18 collected volumes.

Yona of the Dawn received a 24-episode anime adaptation, which aired in the fall 2014 and winter 2015 broadcast seasons. FUNimation currently holds the rights to the adaptation, and streams it on their online service. Viz Media will release the manga starting in Summer 2016.

7th Garden premiered in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine in 2014. The ongoing series spans three compiled volumes, as of press time. Viz Media will start releasing the manga starting in Summer 2016.

Everyone’s Getting Married began its run in Shogakukan’s Petit Comic magazine last year. The third compiled volume hit Japanese retailers on August 10. Viz Media will release the manga starting in Summer 2016.

The Monster Hunter manga is based on Capcom’s popular video game series of the same name. The title kicked off in the pages of Famitsu Comic Clear in 2011. Viz Media will release the manga starting in Spring 2016.
