NYCC 2015: FUNimation To Release Evangelion: 3.33 In February 2016

Evangelion 333 Boxart - 20141223We will (Not) have to wait much longer!

Earlier today, FUNimation announced that long-delayed film Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo will hit North American retailers on February 2, 2016. The film will be released both on Blu-Ray and DVD when it’s released.

Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo is the third of four planned Rebuild of Evangelion films. The title opened in Japanese theaters on November 17, 2012 and earned over $60 million during its box office run. Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno directed the feature at Khara and wrote the film’s screenplay. Yoshiyuki Sadamoto returned to provide character designs on the project.

FUNimation and Eleven Arts partnered to screen the theatrical version of the film, Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo in theaters across the United States and Canada in January 2014. FUNimation originally planned to release the title on physical media in February 14, though it faced numerous delays.

Last year, FUNimation noted that they are working with Studio Khara on the release, and that Khara will produce its own special subtitle tracks for the final release.
