Ojisan and Marshmallow Anime Premieres On 1/7/2016


It’s a sweet story about a dude who likes his marshmallows. What’s not to like?

On Friday, the official Ojisan and Marshmallow anime website revealed that the series will kick off on January 8. The show will be presented as a series of five-minute shorts, which will air on the following networks:

  • TV Saitama: 1/7/2016, from 25:00 – 25:05 (1/8/2016, 1:00AM – 1:05AM)
  • KBS Kyoto: 1/7/2016, from 25:30 – 25:35 (1/8/2016, 1:30AM – 1:35AM)
  • TVK: 1/8/2016, from 25:45 – 25:50 (1/9/2016, 1:45AM – 1:50AM)
  • Sun TV: 1/11/2016, from 26:30 – 26:35 (1/12/2016, 2:30AM – 2:35AM)

Ojisan and Marshmallow is based on a web comic hosted on image site Pixiv. To date, the series has attracted over 20 million viewers, across 91 pages. Ichijinsha began collecting the series in print form, with the first volume hitting in November 2014.

Noriyoshi Sasaki is directing the series at studio Creators in Pack, with Hisayoshi Hirasawa working as Chief Director. Mari Shirakawa will fill the dual role of character designer and animation director, while Galilei Donna writer Atsushi Oka provides the show’s scripts. Masakatsu Oomuro (Danchigai) will be in charge of sound production at Dax Production.
